Q: What causes Rainbow™ proofs to come out with streaks or lines on them?

It is recommended that the Rainbow™ proofer be cleaned during each ink ribbon change. A buildup of dye on the rollers and/or thermal head can cause uneven uniformity.
The thermal head elements can become blocked by small foreign particles which would call for additional cleaning.
Although Rainbow™ system supplies have a long shelf life when properly stored, it can help isolate the problem to try different supplies if they are available.
